In an effort to improve my music literacy I have endeavored to practice transcribing various songs and solos, from several genres. I have memorized several well known improvised solos as a way of digesting certain musical styles, but this will give me both much needed practice and a public outlet... I suppose it will also allow you to keep track of how often I am "practicing" my dictation!
